Infant feeding warning: Honey is not suitable for children under 12 months of age due to the risk of infant botulism. This warning must appear on consumer-facing retail packaging — Buyers placing product on the retail market are responsible for ensuring it is carried on the final pack in line with applicable food labelling rules in their market.

Other vulnerable groups: Individuals who are immunocompromised, or who have been advised by a healthcare professional to avoid raw or unpasteurised foods, should consult their doctor before consuming honey. Honey is a natural sugar — diabetic and weight-managing consumers should seek medical advice on suitability.

Allergens: Honey may contain trace pollen and, very rarely, traces of bee proteins or propolis. Individuals with known bee-product allergies should avoid consumption.
